Timeline…

Summer 2007 – after trying to grow our family for two years, we found out conception is medically impossible.

Winter 07-08 – researched adoption agencies and options.

February 2008 – applied for the domestic Voluntary Infant Program with Lutheran Social Services of the South… we decided on LSSS just a few days before the program cut off.

March 2008 – found out we were accepted into the VIP with LSSS and had apparently scored the highest of all the applicants. (They only accept so many couples per program.)

June 2008 – attended seminar/training for the VIP program as part of our home study requirements.

August 2008 – had in-home interviews as part of our home study requirements.

October 2008 – home study completed!

November 2008 – wrote the biggest check of our lives. Sent in profile “scrapbooks” for potential birth parents to view.

December 2008 – ???? – waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Not being picked. More waiting.
